ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.35.020 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ILLICIT
DISCHARGES INTO STORMWATER SYSTEM.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 8.35.020 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
8.35.020 Illicit discharges into stormwater system prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or association to throw,
dump, empty or in any way cause sanitary wastewater, rubbish, refuse, litter,
accidental spill discharges, garbage of any kind whatsoever, or any unsanitary
or deleterious matter including, but not limited to, petroleum products,
pesticides, herbicides, controlled substances, hazardous materials, or any other
matter prohibited by state or federal law to be introduced into any stormwater
system or conveyance that discharges into a stormwater system.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and
after the date of its passage.
