RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. ~.~j RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO I~PROVE STREET DISTRICT NO.~'IN THE GITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, AND TO ISSUE BONDS IN PAYMENT THEREFOR. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the following work to be do~e and improvement to be made in the said City, to-wit: , That that pe~tion of Union Avenue described as follows: beginning at a point in a line 12 feet west of and parallel to the center line of Union Avenue, said point being 47.45 feet south of the intersection of said~line with the extension westerly of the center line of Sumner Street and is also the point of tangency on a curve whose radius is 61.24 feet, and running thence north- easterly along said curve a distance of 88.14 feet; thence north- westerly on a curve whose radius is 30.66 feet a distance of 43.74 feet to the point of tangency on a line l~ feet east of and parallel to the center lin~ of Union Avenue; thence north on said!line 12 feet east of and parallel to the center line of Union Avenue to a point in a line 8 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly rail of the southerly railroad track of the Southern Pacific Company; thence northwesterly along said line parallel to the southerly rail to its intersec~ion with a line 12 feet west of and parallel to the center line of Union Avenue; thence 12 feet west of and parallel to the center the point of beginning, be graded, and the south along said line line of Union Avenue tO same area be paved with a four (4) inch asphalt concrete base and a one and one-half (l~) inch Warrenite-Bitulithic wearing surface, and that a ~strip three feet wide on either side of the above described area be graded as --~-- SECTION SECTION a shoulder. That that portion of Union Avenue described as follows; beginning at a point in a line 12 feet west of and parallel to the center line of Union Avenue, said point being 20.14 feet north of the intersection of said line with the extension westerly of the center line of Kentucky Street and running thence south on said line 12 feet west of and parallel to the center llne of Union Avenue to a point inca line §feet, northeely from and parallel to the northerly rail of the northerly railroad track of the Southern Pacific Company; thence so~theasterly along said line parallel to the northerly rail to its intersection with a line 12 feet east of and parallel to the center line of Union Avenue; thence north on said line 12 feet east of and parallel to the center l~ne of Union Avenue to the beginning of a curve at a point on said line 65.12 feet south of its i~tersection with the extension westerly of the center line of Kentucky Street; thence northeasterly along said curve whose radius is 30.66 feet,a distance of 44.0S feet; thence south 73°-$8'-30"-East 20 feet to the east llne of Union Avenue; thence north 84.12 fee~; thence nort~J73°-85'-30''- west 47.61 feet; thence west 24 feet to the point of beginning, be graded and the same area be paved with a four (4) inch asphalt concrete base'and a one and one-half inch Warrenite-Bitulithic wearing surface and that a strip three feet wide on either side of the above described area be graded as a shoulder. That a strip 3 feet ~ width and extending across the 24 foot roadway along the limit of work on either side of the Souther~ Pacific Railroad Crossing be graded and paved with Cement Concrete eight (8) inches in thickness. The three portions above described being a continuous strip -~- 24 feet wide and 12 feet on either side of the cente~ line of Union Avenue from Stunner Street, north, to Kentucky Street ( exceptin~ and excluding therefrom the railroad crossing of the Southern Pacific Company)with the approaches to Sumner Street and Kentucky Streets widened and shaped to meet existing pavements. All in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accord- ance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on ~he Jg)~_ day of ~ , 1922, adppted by the Council of the City of Bakersf eld, said plans being entitled "PLANS ~OR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STREh-~ DISTRICT NO.~'IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.", and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVE- MENT OF STREET DISTRICT NO...~'IN THE CITY OF BAKF~$FIELD, CALIF.", and which sa~d plans and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by suoh reference made a part and portion hereo~, Attention is ea~l~4 to the Warrenite Bitulithic License Mixture Agreement of Warren Brothers Company of Boston, Mass, date~__~ /~)~, 1922, and on file in ~he office oftthe City of Clerk. And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or ordinar~y public benefit, said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the southerly line of Sumner Street 298 feet easterly from the easterly line of Union Avenue and r~nnlng thence northerly on a~t line to a point in the -&. southerly line of Kentucky Street 164.34 feet easterly from the easterly line of Union Avenue; thence northerly on a straight line to a point in the mortherly line of Kentucky Street 175,87 feet westerly from the westerly line of Stockton Street; thence northerly on a line 175.87 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Stockton Street 150 feet; thence westerly on a line 180 feet northerly from and parallel to the northerly line of Kentucky Street and the extension westerly of said line to its intersection with a line 220 feet westerly from and parallel to the~ westerly line of Union Avenue; thence southerly on said line 220 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Union Avenue to the north- erly line of 22nd Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of 22nd Street to the westerly line of Union Avenue; thence easterly on a straight line ~o the point of intersection of the easterly llne of Union ~venue and the southerly line of Sumner Street; thence easterly along the southerly line of Sumner Street to the point of beginning. All in the City of Bakersfield, California. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7%) per cent per annum be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the Improvement ~ond Act of 1915, and all act amendatory thereof, the last installment or'which bonds shall mature four years from the 2nd day of ~ly next succeeding nine months from their date. Except ~ hereinabove otherwise provided for the tnssuance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall be done in purmmance of an act of the Legislature of the State of Calffornia, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7th, 1911, and all act~amendatory thereof. Notice is hereby given that on Monday the ~/~ay of  , 1922, at 8 P.M. at aregular meeting of the said o'clock ~ity Council in the Council Chamber~of said City Council in the City Hall of the C~y of Bakersfield, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and ahow cause why said propQsed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twime in the DAILY REPORT, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by Said City Council. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the linesof said con- templated work and improvememt and along all the open streets within Said district, no,ice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form required by law, and in s~id notice he shall call attention to the ~arrenite-Bithulitic License Mixture Agreement of the Warren Brothers Company of Boston, Mass., of date May 12th, 1922, on file in the office of the City Clerk. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention was regularl~ introduced, passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting of said Council b~ on the /~)~day of ~~ 1922, by the following vote: Ayes: Carlisle, (~ri~th, Hare, Piougham, Nelson, RobinSon, Nays...
