RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT
SE%'~RS IN A DISTRICT KNOWN AS "SE%¥ER
DISTRICT NO. ~,t IN THE CITY OF
BAK ~RSFIELD, ~-~NIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
~HEREAS, the public interest and convenience require
that the work and improvement hereinafter described should be done;
and
~TLEREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, said contemplated work and improvement is, and is here-
by declared to be more than local or ordinary public benefit;
NOW THERF_~ORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAEERSFIELD does
hereby resolved and declare that it is the intention of said Council
to order the following work and improvement to be done in said City,
to-wit:
To construct a six (6) inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed
sewer pipe along the center line of the alley running northerly and
southerly through Block 4 Bernard Addition, from an existing lamp
hole 60 feet northerly from the northerly line of Grace Street, north-
erly to the center line of the alley running easterly and westerly
through said Block 4; also
To construct a six (6) inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed
sewer pipe along the center line of the ~ley running easterly and
westerly through Blocks 3 and 4 Bernard Addition and along said
center line produced from a point 20.5 feet easterly from the westerly
line of King Street, westerly, to the intersection of said center
line produced ~ith a line 18 feet northerly from and parallel to
the ~~line of Bernard Street, a~d from said intersection
westerly on a line 18 feet northerly from and parallel to the
~ line of Bernard Street a distance of 91.84 feet; also
To construct a six ~6) inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed
sewer pipe alo~ the center line of the alley running northerly
and southerly in Block 3 Bernard Addition from the center line of the
alley running easterly and westerly through said Block 3, northerly
a distance of 1~8 feet; also
To construct manholes and lampholes at certain points as
shown on the plan and to place Y branches in said sewer for house
connections.
Ail of the aforesaid work a~d improvement is to be done in
accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the

OF SEWER DISTRICT NO. ~/~ IN THE CITY OF BAEEESFIELD, CALIF.",
and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
I~PEOVF~NT OF SE¥'~R DISTEICT MO. z~. IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
CALIF.", and which said plans and specifications are on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby
referred bo and by such reference made a part and portion hereof,
and in this connection the said plans and specifications also show
the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
And this Council does hereby determine and declare that the
said proposed work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and will affect and benefit the lands and district
hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be
the district benefitted by said work and impro%ement, and that, there-
fore, the entire costs and expenses of said work and improvement
shall be and are hereby made chargeable against and shall be assessed
upon said lands and district which said district is within the City
of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, and shall be
known and called "SE¥~ER DISTRICT ~0. z/-4~ "and is more particularly
bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of Grace
Street ',~'ith the easterly line of Kern Street and running thence east-
erly along the northerly line of Grace Street ~ its extension east-
erly to a point ~8 feet easterly from the westerly line of King
Street; thence northerly on a line ~8 feet easterly from and parallel
to the westerly line of King Street to its intersection with the
extension easterly of the southerly line of Pearl Street; thence
westerly along said extension snd the southerly line of Pearl Street
~nd along the extension westerly of. said southerly line of Pearl
Street to the intersection of said extension with a line ~8 feet
northerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Bernard Str~et~~
'~-~thence westerly an said line 28 feet northerly from and parallel to
the ~ltne of Bernard Street to its intersection with the
extension northerly of the easterly line of Kern Street; thence south-
erly along said extension and the easterly line of Kern Street to the
point of beginning.. All in the City of Bakersfield, California.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance
cf an act of ~he Legislature of the State of California, designated
the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April ~th, 1911, and all acts
amendatory thereof.
Notice is hereby given that at 8 o'Clock P.~. on Monday
~ 1922, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall
of the City of Bakersfield, is the time and place hereby fixed when
and where any and all persons having objections to the proposed
work or improvement may appear before the Council of the City of
Bakersfield and show cause why said proposed improvement should not
be carried out in accordance with said Resolution.
The Clerk of this Council shall cause this Resolution of
Intention to b~ published twice in THE BAKERSFIELD CALIMSRNIAN, a
daily newspaper published in said City and hereby designated for that
purpose by the Council ~ the City of Bakersfield.
The Superintendent of Streets of ~aid City shall cause to
be conspisuously posted along the lines of said contemplated work
and improvement and in fromt of the property liable to be assessed,
and along all the open streets within such district, notice of the
passage of this Resolution of Intention, in the manner and
and within 6ae time required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted ~y the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the
