AMENDMENT NO. I TO RESOLUTION NO.
004-02 AUTHORIZING ACCESS TO SALES
AND USE TAX RECORDS PURSUANT TO
REVENUE AND TAXATION CODE SECTION
7056.
WHEREAS, California Revenue and Taxation Code section 7056 permits the
legislative body of a city to request access by duly authorized officers or employees of the
city to examine all of the sales transactions and use tax records of the State Board of
Equalization for the purpose of municipal revenue forecasting and verification; and
WHEREAS, on January 9, 2002, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted
Resolution No. 004-02 and this resolution is intended to amend that document by deleting
the words "allocation information" in paragraph 1 and inserting the word "records,"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The following City officials are hereby authorized to receive and review sales
and use tax records from the State Board of Equalization:
Finance Director of the City of Bakersfield
Assistant Finance Director of the City of Bakersfield
Treasurer of the City of Bakersfield
Treasury Supervisor of the City of Bakersfield
2. Information obtained by examination of the sales and use tax records of the
State Board of Equalization shall be used only for the purpose related to the collection of
local sales and use tax by the State Board for municipal revenue forecasting and
verification.
3. This resolution supersedes all previous authorizations.
4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of the resolution and send a
certified copy to:
