AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
5.56.140 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO TRANSIENT OUTDOOR
BUSINESSES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 5.56.140 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
5.56.140 Exemptions.
The following are exempt from the permit requirements and other regulations of this
chapter; provided that the place or places, if any, from which the activity or business is
conducted satisfies the requirements of subsections A, C and D of Section 5.56.050 and
that the activity or business complies with all other applicable provisions of this code:
A. Fund raising activities by schools and by charitable, fraternal, civic, and social
institutions.
B. The activity or business has held a current city business license for the location
for a period of two years or more prior to the effective date of the ordinance enacting this
chapter.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code
provisions and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after the date of its
passage.
