RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PARKING FEES
AND CHARGES FOR THE 18TH & EYE STREET
PARKING GARAGE
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield owns and operates a public parking
facility on the northeast corner of Eighteenth and Eye streets in downtown
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the current fees and charges do not generate sufficient
revenue to fully pay for the normal operating costs of the parking facility; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved capital improvement upgrades
to the parking facility to install improved access control and payment collection
system; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires for the operation, maintenance and
security of the parking facility to be self- sustaining as much as possible; and
WHEREAS, adoption of fees and charges, pursuant to State Law, is
necessary for the City to recover the reasonable estimated cost of operations,
maintenance and security of the parking facility, for which the fees are
charged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference; and
2. The City Council hereby adopts the fees and charges for the 18th
and Eye Street parking facility as detailed in Exhibit A; and
3. The fees and charges listed shall become effective June 1, 2015 or
as soon thereafter as practical.

18th and Eye Street Parking Rate Schedule
1) Daily Rates:
a) First Two (2) Hours - Free
b) Hourly charge after two hours - $1.00 per hour
c) Maximum daily rate - $10.00 per day
2) Monthly Rates:
a) Charge per month (paid in advance) - $30 per month
b) Access card - $5.00 refundable deposit
i) Replacement of lost or stolen cards - $5.00
3) Special Events:
a) Special event rate - $5.00 per vehicle
i) Staffed with collection at point of entry
