Update reaardina Ganq and Graffiti Enforcement - Police Chief Rector 1 1 Chief Rector reported that the number of shootings is at its lowest point sin September, there has been increased focus on gun seizures. The number of search warrants has alsc Assistant Chief Martin reported that the Investigations Division has increa on daytime burglaries and auto theft, among other crimes. He gave an overview of a list of safety tips. B. Report on Kern County Probation Activities - Chief Probation Officer Rober� Probation Division Director - Juvenile Programs, Susan Lerude reported tha is retiring, and David Kuge will be sworn in as the new Chief. Risk assessments of all juveniles in the program will be completed before date, 60% of those assessed were designated low risk. These young peopl to be monitored, but at a reduced amount of field time. Eight young people graduated after the first year of the Bridges AcadE eight, three are enrolled at Bakersfield College, two have jobs, one is goin� out-of-town college and two are undecided. There will be more to report i� Safe Neighborhoods and Community R� Agenc Assistant Chief Martin reported that the booth was staffed for 28 days, wit 2 people per shift. The Police Department logged 161 hours (25 shifts). 1 members volunteered their time, and 13 flexed their hours in order to p NAACP provided 16 representatives and staffed the booth for 35 hours (9 County Black Chamber of Commerce had 4 representatives for 8 hours organization distributed materials regarding programs such as Neighb Crime Prevention and the Gang tip Hotline. 5. NEW BUSINESS A. Discussion and Committee Recommendation regarding Adoptior Committee Meeting Schedule - Stinson 12:07:00 Pn� Deferred to the next meeting. No quorum. 6. COMMITTEE COMMENTS 12:07:08 PM Assistant Chief Martin distributed the safety tips he discussed earlier. Advisory Member Campbell distributed copies of information regarding th King, Jr. breakfast on January 14, 2010. Ms. Campbell reported that in January, in partnership with Faith in Action, � programs in Kern County for at risk youth will be mapped as part of the onc program. Ms. Campbell also reported that on Saturday, December 19, 2009, there � clinic and Martin Luther King, Jr. Park from 9:00 a.m. until noon, Stay Focu holding a toy giveaway at Williams Elementary School from 10:00 a.m. until Stop the Violence is having their Christmas party from 2:00 p.m, to 4:00 p.rr Center. Daryl Thiesen of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools distributed a 1 gang prevention partners. Mr. Thiesen also reported that approximately 25 young people between tr 18 from Kern Co�nty are graduating on December 18, 2009 from the Gri<. Referrals for the program have been Ebony Counseling Center, Garden Pathways, Stop the Violence, and Stay Law enforcement distributed approximately 500 baskets this morning. Advisory member Strong reported on a toy giveaway at the hou� Cottonwood Drive on Friday, December 18, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 � distributed by the Parra Foundation at Rexland Acres Park on Saturday, 2009. He reminded the attendees that the Corporation for Better Housing centers available to any faith based organization that needs a facility in w event.
