HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 082-15RESOLUTION NO. 0 8) G - 1.5 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT A MODULAR HOME TO TEMPORARILY HOUSE FIRE DEPT. STAFF CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR AND PURCHASE A MODULAR HOME FROM VALLEY MANUFACTURED HOMES, INC., NOT TO EXCEED $100,000. WHEREAS, A bid was awarded by City Council on June 3, 2015 to remodel Bakersfield Fire Station 8; and WHEREAS, the necessity to provide temporary housing for Fire Dept. Personnel during the course of the remodel will require the purchase of a modular home; and WHEREAS, Previous attempts to solicit competitive written bids on a modular home were unsuccessful; and WHEREAS, Municipal code section 3.20.060 D.3 states in the instance of no bids received, by adoption of a resolution, equipment or materials may be purchased on the open market; and WHEREAS, staff has located a suitable modular home for the temporary housing of Fire Dept. personnel at Valley Manufactured Homes, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference. 2. Previous attempts to solicit competitive written bids on a modular home were unsuccessful. 3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code. 4.
