BYNUM ASSOCIATES FOR A PORTION OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 21, TOWNSHIP 30 SOUTH, RANGE 27 EAST, M.D.M., Parcel Map 11773 Objective The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) To use the criteria as shown in the C.O.B Design Standards for Commercial Land use. This criteria will be used for all calculations. 2) To determine the total design discharge into the existing sewer running through the parcel map. 3) To determine if the existing sewer system can adequately handle the flows that will be generated by the commercial center. Existing Facilities The existing facilities for Parcel Map 11773 were originally done as sewer improvements for Parcle Map 11263. Sewer collection will be accomplished by utilizing the Ashe Road Trunk Sewer. The 30” diameter sewer trunk flows south on Ashe Road and then West on McCutcheon Road to the City of Bakersfield Sewer Treatment Plant No. 3. An existing 8” in Woodmere and an 8” that parallels the 30” down Ashe Road, per the Parcel Map 11263 sewer improvement plans will serve the new parcel map. The 8” that runs south down Ashe connects to a manhole (MH4 on the display map) which conveys the sewage through another 8” to the 30” to the east. Capacity Criteria: Sewage demands were developed specific to the project. These demands were developed as follows: 1. Commercial Peak Discharge Rate of 0.0100 CFS/GA in accordance with the Subdivision Design Manuel was utilized for this study. Conclusion The three main objectives of this sewer study have been accomplished. All of the existing pipes have sufficient capacity to accept the flows generated by the approved designations and zoning for parcel map 11773. Additionally, the existing system has extra capacity to accommodate any slight adjustments that could be made in the future. CALCULATIONS SEWER DESIGN MAP
