ORD{NANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTION 1.12.040 BY ADDING ANNEXATION NO. 421
TO WARD 4.
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) adopted a resolution
for Annexation No. 421 on February 26, 2002, ordering the territory annexed to the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield is
required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the LAFCO recently completed annexation of the territory to the City
of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" for
ANNEXATION NO. 421 and shown in Exhibit UB", attached hereto and incorporated as though
fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Annexation No. 421 shall be included in Ward 4.
Section 3.
Section 1.12.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding
thereto the legal description set forth in Exhibit "A'.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code
and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the City of
Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage.

A parcel of land being a portion of the southeast 1/4 of Section 30, Township 29 South, Range 27
East, M.D.NI., County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the south 1/4 comer of said Section 30, being a monumented comer per Kern
County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 7-1, Book 6, Page 46, said 1/4 comer by calculated conversion
being 2,322,434.521 feet North and 6,228,040.326 feet East per California Coordinate System
(N.A.D. 83), Zone 5;
Thence N 00° 13' 42" W, along the west line of the southeast 1/4 of said Section 30, a distance of
55.00 feet to a point on the north right of way line of Brirnhall Road (per irrevocable offer of
dedication filed in Book 4764, Page 711, Official Records), said point also being on the existing
exterior corporate boundary line of the City of Bakersfield and is the TRUE POINT OF
BEGIN.~ING;
Thence (1) continuing N 00° 13' 42" W, along the west line of said southwest 1/4 section, 605.67
feet to the northwest comer of the southwest 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 as
shown on Parcel Map No. 3515 filed in Book 16 of Parcel Maps, Page 52;
Thence (2) N 89° 46' 36" E, along the north line of said section se~m-nent, 180.04 feet to the
northeast comer of the property conveyed to Billy R. and Almeda J. Thompson per Grant Deed
filed in Book 4867, Page 379, Official Records;
Thence (3) S 00° 13' 54" E, along the east line of said property, 630.72 feet to intersect the north
right of way line of Brimhall Road (Co. Rd. No. 589), also being a point on the existing exterior
corporate boundary line of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (4) S 89° 47' 39" W, along said corporate boundary line (and north right of way line),
180.08 feet;
Thence (5) N 00° 13' 42" W, along said corporate boundary line, 25.00 feet to the TRUE POINT
OF BEGINNING.
