A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT A
COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SYSTEM
CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING
PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE
FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH
BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED
$1,080,000.
WHEREAS, CiTY currently has a Records Management System that must be
integrated with any new Computer Aided Dispatch System; and
WHEREAS, City has tested various Computer Aided Dispatch systems to ascertain
whether or not they will be compatible with the City's current Records Management system;
and
WHEREAS, Versaterm has recently updated the City's Records Management
System; and
WHEREAS, Versaterm was the only vendor who could meet the requirement of
successfully integrating with the City's current Records Management System; and
WHEREAS, it is necessa~J to purchase the Computer Aided Dispatch System from
Versaterm because of the necessity to successfully integrate the Computer Aided Dispatch
System, and such work, supplies, equipment or materials into an existing City project or
system,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference.
2. The work, supplies, equipment or materials can only be reasonably obtained
from one vendor because of the need to successfully integrate such work, supplies,
equipment or materials into an existing City project or system.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in accordance
with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code,
4. The expenditure of funds for said work, supplies, equipment or material shall
not exceed One Million Eighty Thousand Dollars ($1,080,000).
