AN ORDINANCE ADDING THE MADISON #1
ANNEXATION TO WARD 1.
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) adopted a
resolution for Madison No. 1 Annexation (Annexation No. 384) on August 22, 1995,
ordering the territory annexed to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
is required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to
the City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A"
and as shown in Exhibit "B" for MADISON NO. I ANNEXATION attached hereto and
incorporated as though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Madison No. I Annexation shall be included in Ward 1.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described
territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the
date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

A parcel of land being a portion of Section 8,
M.D.M., County of Kern, State of California,
described as follows:

Commencing a= the southwest corner of the nor=beast 1/4 of said
Section 8, as shown on Parcel Map No. 5723 filed for record in Book
24 of Parcel Maps at Page 174 in the office of the Kern County
Recorder;
THENCE North 00° 05' 32" Eas=, along the west li~e of said 1/4
Sac:ion, a distance of 990.84 fee: to the northwest corner of the
west 1/2 of the south 1/2 of the north 1/2 of the southwest 1/4 of
