1. This weekend, Human Resources will begin its relocation to the first floor a
North, 1600 Truxtun Avenue. Services will be limited on Tuesday, Januar
staff completes their move-in. They expect to be back to full service on W�
The City Attorney's Office will be moving to the fourth floor at City Hall
Friday, January 25th. The City Attorney's operations will be back to full :
Monday, January 28t". There may be some phone and computer interru
week, but the service disruption should be minimal. We appreciate you
during the relocation transition.
2. The City of Bakersfield has nominated the Rosedale Widening Project f�
under the Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality, and Port Security
of 2006, otherwise known as Proposition 1 B approved by voters last Noven
$2 billion program is for infrastructure improvements along corridors that h<
volume of freight movement. The nomination is requesting $16 million in
funds for construction of the project, which will widen Rosedale Highway fr�
six lanes from Allen Road to SR-99. The project also includes a railrc
separation at the BNSF Landco spur to relieve congestion and facilit�
movement in the corridor. If approved, under this program the City would
Prop. 1 B funds with equal funding from the TRIP federal earmark.
3. The Water Resources Department reports that the storm period of earl
2008 was the best snow producer in the Kern River Basin in nearly t

5. There will be a breakfast at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. center on Monda�
21 St. In the afternoon, kids will be invited to attend a free lunch and learn
King's legacy. Both events are being coordinated by neighborhood groups.
6. Several media outlets have inquired about the status of the beaver alon�
path. The Fish and Game Department must approve the re-location site
private property, before a trapper may be hired to relocate the beaver. l
beaver has not caused further damage along the bike path.
7. The Graffiti Unit statistics for December 2007 are enclosed.
8. The Streets Division work schedule for the week of January 21St is enc�osed

Nomination for TCIF Funding
Dear Mr. Barna;
Enclosed are five copies of a nomination for funding the widening of Rosedale Highwa�
from the Trade Corridors Improvement Fund (TCIF). The proposed improveme
approximately six miles of the existing four-lane highway to six lanes from Allen Road to
