1. Human Resources has relocated and is operating at 1600 Truxtun, also known a
North. Fire Prevention is at 1501 Truxtun, where HR had been. The City Attorn
will be operating out of City Hall North next week, and Recreation and Parks will
following week. Information Technology will fill in the City Attorney's space at 15C
Our office, the City Clerk, Risk Management and Finance will move whenever Bori
finds new space — no later than January 1 St of next year. All the moves may be c<
the public for a time but we will use signage, the webpage, etc. to minimize that.
2. At the City Council's request, the City Attorney's Office has been attempting
legislation that would grant California cities immunity from liability if they created q
that met Federal standards. Late in 2007, Senator Florez introduced SB 150 that
to accomplish this goal. Although SB 150 was introduced during this legislative te
of this legislation has been postponed until the next legislative session in order tc
its potential for success.
3. City staff held an annexation information neighborhood meeting for the Hooper arE
Olive Drive on Thursday, January 24th. It was a positive meeting with a number o
expressing interest in receiving sewer service.
4. Grading has started for Phase I of the Baker Street Village project. Construction
received earlier this week for the construction of Phase I and are being an<

Bright House Networks will adjust pricing beginning March 1, 2008. The new rates reflect the c�
increased technolo�ry, programming and general operating costs. Customers of the Bakersfield
on average, will see a 2.5% increase depending on the products and services they receive.
Your c�nstituents will receive the attached rate change notice starting in the next few days.
Limited Basic service will increase from $12.95 to $13.95; Advantage Service moves from �
$4�.45. The rate for the digital navigator service will decline $1.00 from $3.00 to $2.00.
Additionally, customers who subscribe to Unlimited Nationwide Digital phone, Advantage c
Road Runner will see their monthly phone rate decrease �1.50 from $37.95 to $36.45 for phon
Our rate for RoadRunner Premium will actually decrease by $10.00 to $54.95. Our DVR se�
increase $1.00 to $7.95.
We remain committed to providing the highest levels of quality programming and service
customers. 2007 programming additions included National Geographic HD, History HD, TBS
Business News and PBS Sprout.
Our commitment to customer service is unwavering. Our telephone hours are expanding and
start at 7 AM and run until 10 PM weekdays.
