1. It appears that the proposal for a 1% County sales tax has been postponed ur
is interesting to note that the City of Bakersfield generates 52% of the sales t�
Kern County compared to 33% by the County. The other ten cities generate
the largest being under 5%.
2. It appears that the second and fifth floors of City Hall North will be made avail
mid-October. My office, the City Clerk, Finance, and Risk Management wo�

3. The Budget and Finance Committee met on Monday and reviewed the issue o
use of assessment districts by developers to fund public improvements.

7. Two teams from the Police Department's Explorer Post #521 attended a confE
that provided training experience to develop skills in the law enforcement pro
