The Council Meeting on September 17th is likely to be quite lengthy. WE structured the agenda with Consent Calendar at the 5:15 p.m. session. 5. The City of Bakersfield Recreation and Parks Department will create a temp� Eye Street, next to City Hall North in honor of National Park(ing) Da September 19th. The park will have grass, benches, a drinking fountain, an about the recreation and parks programs and facilities. All are welcome to : a lunch and enjoy the park. 6. FRANCIS SCHOOL PROPERTY ISSUE COUNCIL REFERRAL NO. 6 Councilmember Benham has requested staff to review the correspondence from P Stockton Leddy dated August 22, 2008 regarding St. Francis School and 2501 Dr; Street property issue. Backqround: St. Francis School is located at 2516 Palm Street in an R-1 Zone, and is all Conditional Use Permit. Ms. Leddy, whose property abuts the school, addressed a I Building Director Phil Burns, in which she complained about a basketball coui recently constructed at Saint Francis School. On August 13, 2008, Planning and B� visited St. Francis School and spoke to Mr. Antongiovanni, who introduced him facilities manager. Mr. Antongiovanni was aware of Ms. Leddy's dissatisfaction an� make changes within reason to mitigate her concerns. After viewing the facility frorr site, staff visited Ms. Leddy's property to view the situation from her side of the fe� Ms. Leddy is dissatisfied with the location of the basketball court because it abuts h line, taking away her privacy, solitude, and because of its accessibilityto neighbonc� after hours, endangered her safety.
