Facility- Inspection
In order to evaluate the wastewater system, an inspection of the wastewater system and the above
ground tank was conducted on June 30, 2006 by Allen Rubbert of WZT_ It is our understanding
that there have been two violations of discharged wastewater involving low pH and excess
volume- On the advice of the Bakersfield Fire Department, a Sensaphone has been installed with
sensors to detect p11 abnormalities and/or a high fluid level and is operational. This device sets
off an alarm and lights, which notifies the quality control supervisor or the maintenance
mechanic to shut down the wastewater system and the City water supply pdor to discharging
wastewater.
A 1,000 gallon standby tank and an associated pump was recently -installed io pump out the
wastewater tank contents. This water is then treated to proper discharge, spe6fications, then re-
introduced into the wastewater tank for discharge. The standby tank is double wall plastic and is
located on top of the recessed wastewater concrete tang_
If additional assistance is required, Safety Clean can be called to provide this service_
used on the conditions observed during the inspection of June 30, 2006, the. wastewater system
addition is considered adequate to prevent release of non-specification waswwater to the city
sewer system.
