The solar sys unveiled on Thursday, September 1 st at 9 a.m. with an official ribk ceremony at 6901 McCutchen Road. We heard this week we were successful in our most re application with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and were awardE to begin work on the new Habitat Conservation Plan. We hope this more funds being awarded to us in the future from this source a� forward with the project. ♦ For the second month in a row over 30 residential permits will be is� that is not a huge number perhaps we are stabilizing at that lev Commercial permit activity continues to be slow! ♦ Mayor Harvey Hall will be hosting a ceremony on August 29th to cel signing of a Sister City agreement with Mayor Swaith Malik of Amr The event will take place inside the City Council Chambers at 12 p mark the sixth Sister City for Bakersfield. A news release is enclosed. ♦ The Police Department had previously been awarded first place i California Law Enforcement Challenge and winner of a spec rec�anizina the Denartment for its use of innovative technoloav. The solar system will be unveiled on Thursday, SeptE 2011, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., with an official ribbon cutting ceremony McCutchen Road. Directions: Take Ashe Road south, past Panama Lane. Plant 3 is locate two miles south of Panama Lane on the west side of the road. Use th Ashe Road gate to enter plant 3, and follow the signs for the parking area. The project's success was made possible through the collaborative effor City; the project contractor, System 3; United States Department of Enei PG&E. The United States Department of Energy provided a$3 million A Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant, and PG&E provided $2.7 n California Solar Initiative rebates. This project exemplifies the City of Bakers�eld's commitment to cleane our community and State by reducing carbon emissions using alternati power.
