Both he and Bob Smith, Councilmember-Elect for Ward 4, will office on December 11 tn. • As you are aware, Councilmember Salas has been elected to serve thE 32nd State Assembly District. He will take his Oath of Office in early De� will then leave the Ward 1 seat vacant. The options are: o Ward 1 voters may call for an election by a petition process; o Council may call for an election; o If an election is called by either means, the Council may app member; o Council may choose to leave the position open until an election t o Council may make an appointment if a petition is not received fr voters. This issue is slated for discussion at the January 9th Council meeting. • Water Resources staff reports that there will be water in the River for c week due to the release to one of the Water Districts. The flow will b� Road; and, if there is enough, we may even see it as far south as th� Gf • City of Bakersfield Animal Control will be offering FREE microchips December 1 St. This "Holiday Pet Event" will be held at Tractor Supply, Drive, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. TRIP News � Motorists are advised to anticipate a nighttime lane closure on Coffee Brimhall Road, from December 2-6, 2012. The outside northbound lane c will be closed between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. to allow thE the Westside Parkway to work on the installation of a new storm drain. This work will also require the periodic closure of one or two lanes wit Road/Brimhall Road intersection during this period. At least one lane in will be open to traffic while work is underway. All lanes are expected to for the morning commute. Assisting BPD in setting out barricades for Christmas Parade NOTE: If raining, there will be no street sweeping service and all street cleaning pers assigned to cleaning plugged drains and part circle culverts. This also applies when a street sweeper are in Fleet for repairs which is the current case. Areas that have beer time will be swept at the end of the month.
