AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO RESOLUTION 152 -01 ESTABLISHING
COUNCIL POLICY FOR EVALUATING REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE FROM NON - PROFIT GROUPS.
WHEREAS, on September 19, 2001, the City Council adopted Resolution No.
152 -01, and subsequent Amendment No. 1 on June 25, 2014, establishing Council
policy for evaluating requests for financial assistance from non - profit groups; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned resolution limits financial assistance for
ongoing operations and maintenance purposes for four organizations; and
WHEREAS, the four organizations eligible to receive financial assistance for
ongoing operations and maintenance purposes from the City include the
Bakersfield Senior Center, Bakersfield Museum of Art, the Bakersfield Symphony
Orchestra, and Bakersfield Music Theater; and
WHEREAS, due to unforeseen economic issues, a request has been made to
provide ongoing operations and maintenance purposes from Alliance Against
Family Violence and Sexual Assault, a non - profit organization, for FY 2015 -16 and
FY 2016 -17 funding; and
WHEREAS, Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault is not
included in the aforementioned list of non - profit organizations eligible for
operations and maintenance funding from the City pursuant to Resolution 152 -01;
and
WHEREAS, the policy must be amended for the City Council to consider this
request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
The above recitals are true and correct.
2. Resolution No. 152 -01 is hereby amended to add Alliance Against
Family Violence and Sexual Assault to the list of eligible non - profit organizations
approved to receive financial assistance for ongoing operations and
maintenance purposes from the City, limited to FY 2015 -16 and FY 2016 -17.

3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
