AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 15.18 TO THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
LANDSCAPE WATER EFFICIENCY CODE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 15.18 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby added to read
as follows:

BMC 15. 18.010 Adoption
Except as provided in this chapter, that certain landscaping water
efficiency code known and designated as California Code of Regulations, Title
23, Chapter 2.7 as adopted by the state is adopted by reference as modified
and amended in this chapter and is declared to be the landscaping water
efficiency code of the city for the purpose stated therein.

BMC 15.18.040 Final Inspection
At the time of final inspection, the permit applicant shall provide the
owner of the property with:
A. Certificate of Completion
B. Certificate of Installation
C. Irrigation Schedule for the plants once established shall be posted
next to controller showing the following:
1. A diagram of the irrigation station watering zones and
associated irrigation station number
2. Irrigation duration per station (if seasonal, provide seasonal
durations)
3. If the watering schedule at the time of final inspection is set
for plant establishment, information shall be given to the owner on when the
Irrigation Schedule, as posted, shall be started.
D. Schedule of landscape and irrigation maintenance, irrigation
controller manual.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is declared to be an emergency ordinance pursuant to
Sections 23 and 24 of the Charter of the City of Bakersfield and shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
