Traffic and Other Road Advisories In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, this rescheduled to a later date. ➢ Beltway Operational Improvement Project Lane and Ramp Closures State Rovtes 58 and 99 The nighttime closures previously scheduled on the northbound State Route 99 State Route 58 connector ramp and the southbound State Route 99 t connector ramp have been rescheduled for Sunday night, April 3rd, betweer 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. The closure is needed to temporarily realign the traffi� southbound State Route 99 to eastbound State Route 58 connector ramp. On Sunday night, April 3rd, the contractor will be performing maintenance on devices on State Route 99, between Ming Avenue and Wilson Road. This work closure of the outside northbound lane and the closure of the northbounc 99/Ming Avenue on- and off-ramps. Short, intermittent closures will also be n southbound direction and the California Highway Patrol may need to stop trc minutes while work is performed. Long-term shoulder and lane closures will also be in place on the following Cit� the contractor works on bridge widening activities: P Street, between Dobru� Snyder Lane; Madison Street, between Brundage Lane and Derrell � Cottonwood Road, between Brundage Lane and Padre Street. Work in tf expected to be conducted during daytime hours, between the 7:00 a.m. a Monday through Friday. ➢ Delays anticipated on State Routes 178 and 184 The contractor for the State Route 178 Widening project plans to perfor activities along State Route 178, between Canteria Drive and Masterson Stree April 4t". The contractor will be moving dirt off the job site and flagging personn� stop traffic when trucks enter and exit the job site, and during the loading prc affect both directions of travel between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. T stopped for up to 10 minutes. Motorists are advised to use alternate route sufficient time to reach their destinations while this work is underway. The project provides a new access point to and from State Route 99 and relieves con; arterial roadways and at the adjacent Panama Lane and State Route 119 (Taft Highway) interchan In March, the Kern Council of Governments (Kern COG) approved $2.655 million in Congestion Air Quality Improvement funds to go to the City of Bakersfield for the Truxtun Avenue/Oak StrE Improvements Project. These funds will reduce the City's overall debt obligation for the TRIP prog The City received a Kern COG Regional Award of Merit in the Transportation category for tl 178/Morning Drive Interchange last month. The award was presented at the Annual Regional Aw on March 3, 2016. Congratulations to everyone who worked on this outstanding project! The Right-of-Way team marked another milestone in March. City Council has now approved mc the full single-family residential property acquisitions needed for the Centennial Corridor Project. the 199 residential properties needed for the project have been purchased. Half of the comm� properties and all but one multi-family property have also been acquired on a voluntary basis. Crews have also started working on the widening of the P Street, Madison Street and Cot bridge structures. This work is being performed during daytime hours and will require long-terr on these streets. At least one lane in each direction will remain open to traffic unless otherwise n� Rosedale Highway Widening Contractor: Teichert Construction 72% complete; anticipated completion: fall 2016 Paving operations (bottom lifts) were underway in March between Mohawk and Gibson activities will continue in April between Calloway Drive and Mohawk Street. Additional work it included the installation of curb and gutter, sidewalks and driveways; storm drain modificatior modifications; and utility relocations in various areas along the corridor. The contractor ground existing asphalt and installed temporary striping, between Wedding L� Street, to allow traffic to be moved to the outside of the roadway in this area. This will allow th begin work on the median in April.
