A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF THE
ALLEY IN BLOCK 288, CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California,
pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941"
being Sections 8300, et seq., of Division 9, Part 3 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, does hereby resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the Council of
the City of Bakersfield to order the vacation of an alley in Block
288, situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, being a portion
of Section 30, T. 29 S., R. 28 E., M.D.B.& M., said
portion more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 4, Block 288
as said Block is shown on the Map of the City of
Bakersfield, recorded November 25, 1898 in Book 1
of Maps at Pages 13 and 14 in the Office of the
County Recorder of Kern County, said corner also
being the true point of beginning.
Thence easterly along the south line of said Lot 4,
264.00 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 1 of said
Block, thence southerly 33.00 feet to the northeast
corner of Lot 8 of said Black, thence westerly 264.00
feet to the northwest corner of Lot 5 of said Block,
thence northerly 33.00 feet to the true point of
beginning.
Excepting and reserving all of said alley for Public
Utilities Easement and for ingress and egress of
City emergency vehicles.
That it is determined by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield that the public convenience and necessity require the
reservation of the aforementioned easement and the proceedings
hereunder are taken subject to such reservations and exceptions.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation,
reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, in the City Hall, 1501
Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California.
SECTION 2: That the hour of 8:00 P. M., of the 22nd
day of November, 1971, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall,
1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is
hereby fixed as the time and place when and where all persons
interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may appear
before the Council and offer evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 3: That the Superintendent of Streets of the
City of Bakersfield, California, be and he is hereby directed to
cause "Notice of Street Vacation" to be posted as required by said
"Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and the
Council of said City hereby elects to proceed under the provisions
of said Act.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Resolution, and shall cause the same to be posted on the
Bulletin Board at the City Hall, 1501 Trust. Avenue, in the City
of Bakersfield, California, within fifteen (15) days after its
passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day of November, 1971,
by the following vote:

That she is the duly appointed, acting and qualified City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield; and
that on November 2 .., 1971. she posted on the Bulletin Board
at the City Hall, a full, true and correct copy of a Resolution of Intention passed by the Council
of said City at a meeting thereof duly held on .__. November 1 _ _ _ ,__...., 19_ 71, which
Resolution of Intention was numbered__.__ 871 and entitled:
