A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT X- Taff.A4r IUD -10f
INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
SERVICES FOR STERTIL -KONI VEHICLE LIFTS
CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES
AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR
TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFORE AND
PURCHASE INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE AND
REPAIR SERVICES FOR STERTIL -KONI VEHICLE
LIFTS THROUGH SOUTHWEST LIFT AND
EQUIPMENT, INC., NOT TO EXCEED $90,000
OVER A THREE -YEAR TERM.
WHEREAS, CITY is in need of inspection, maintenance and repair services for
Stertil -Koni vehicle lifts; and
WHEREAS, CITY currently has 27 vehicle lifts manufactured by Stertil -Koni in
operation at the three Fleet Services facilities located within the City; and
WHEREAS, Stertil -Koni gives authorization only to companies that are fully
trained for the inspection and service of Steril-Koni products; and
WHEREAS, Southwest Lift & Equipment, Inc. is the exclusive authorized certified
inspector and service providerforall Stertil -Koni products in Southern California; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase inspection, repair and maintenance
services for Stertil -Koni vehicle lifts from an authorized company due to safety
requirements that lifts meet all safety standards and be properly maintained;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. As the sole Southern California authorized certified inspector and
service provider, the services can only be reasonably obtained from one vendor,
Southwest Lift & Equipment, Inc., because of the need to successfully inspect, repair
and maintain such equipment that are already in operation within the City system.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in
accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code. o �aKpyJ

4. The expenditure of funds for said parts shall not exceed Ninety
Thousand Dollars ($90,000) over a three -year term.
HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held
on JUN 0 6 2016 by the following vote:

Stertil -Koni is a manufacturer of heavy-duty lifts. Southwest Lift is an exclusive authorized
distributor and approved installer and certified inspector and service provider for all of the
Stertil -Koni products in the Southwest states of the United States including: Arizona,
Nevada, Utah, and Southern California.
