HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 104-16RESOLUTION NO. 104— 1 6 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SEWER AND STORM SEWER SERVICE USERS CHARGES BY THE KERN COUNTY AUDITOR - CONTROLLER'S OFFICE WHEREAS, Chapter 14.12 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code provides for the billing of sewer user fees; and WHEREAS, the CITY has calculated the annual rate for residential and commercial user fees; and WHEREAS, the fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated by reference, do not exceed the reasonable estimated cost of providing the services for which the fees are charged; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the collection of said charges is necessary for Fiscal Year 2016/2017, and that the rates set by City Council action on June 3, 2015 for Fiscal Year 2015/2016 will be increased for Fiscal Year 2016 /2017. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference. 2. The fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A" are hereby adopted by separate resolution and shall become effective on July 1, 2016. 3. The adoption of these fees and charges complies with Proposition 218. 4. Pursuant to the Bakersfield Municipal Code, the fees and charges herein shall be collected by the Kern County Tax Collector on the property tax rolls.
