RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WATER RATES
FOR CITY DOMESTIC WATER SERVICE AREA
AND FAIRHAVEN SERVICE AREA.
RECITALS
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.18 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code authorizes the
City Council to establish fees and charges sufficient for the City to recover the
costs of providing domestic water services; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council was advertised twice
in the Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper of general circulation; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was opened for public testimony on June 8,
2016 and concluded on June 29, 2016 to determine whether the proposed fees
and charges are discriminatory or excessive; and
WHEREAS, the fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto
and incorporated by reference, do not exceed the reasonable estimated cost
of providing the services for which the fees are charged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
The above recitals are true and correct.
2. The fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and
incorporated herein as if fully set forth, are hereby adopted and
shall become effective on July 1, 2016.
3. The adoption of these fees and charges complies with Proposition
218.
