A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONSENTING TO A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON
THE PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED
OLD TOWN KERN-PIONEER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Central District Development Agency (the "Agency") is
engaged in activities necessary or appropriate to carry out the California Community
Redevelopment Law (Health & Safety Code, Sections 33000, et seq.) within the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33330 of the Community Redevelopment Law, the Agency
has prepared a proposed Redevelopment Plan for the proposed Old Town Kern-Pioneer
Redevelopment Project in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, Section 33355 of the Community Redevelopment Law authorizes a joint public
hearing on the proposed Redevelopment Plan with the consent of the Agency and the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has consented to a joint public hearing on the proposed
Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has further requested the City Council to call a joint public hearing
of the Agency and City Council, at a date, time and place to be determined by the City Council,
to consider and act upon the proposed Redevelopment Plan and all documents and evidence
pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council hereby consents to a joint public hearing on the proposed
Redevelopment Plan for the proposed Old Town Kern-Pioneer Redevelopment Project, to
consider and act upon the proposed Redevelopment Plan and all documents and evidence
pertaining thereto.
SECTION 3: The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized and directed, in
cooperation with the Executive Director of the Agency or his designee and the City Clerk of the
City of Bakersfield, to set the date, time and place of such joint public hearing, and prepare,
publish and mail such notices and documents, and do all other acts as may be necessary to carry
out the purposes of this Resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council
of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on MAR 1 ? 1999 by the following vote:
