community Services
Recreation and Parks Director Ford provided
an overview and computer overhead
presentation and distributed written
material regarding the proposed budget for
Recreation and Parks.
Assistant Parks Superintendent Abe provided
an update on the Lowell Park Program.
Carson recognized Geraldine Spencer,
citizens Community Services Advisory
Committee, to speak regarding Lowell Park.
Convention Center Superintendent Cronk
provided a computer overhead presentation
for the Convention Center; and introduced
John Meroski, Executive Director, Greater
Bakersfield Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Mr. Meroski introduced Board Members Mitch
VanWermer and Bill Murray and provided a
computer overhead presentation.
Mayor Price announced a 5-minute recess at
1:05 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at
1:10 p.m.

Public Works Director Rojas, provided a
computer overhead presentation, distributed
written material and introduced Civil
Engineer Ted Wright who provided an
overview of the Capital Improvements
Program for the Public Works proposed
budget.
Economic & Community Development
Economic Development Director Wager
introduced Development Associate Bates who
provided an overview, computer overhead
presentation and distributed written
material on the proposed Community
Development budget. Development Associate
Devereaux provided an overview and computer
overhead presentation on the proposed
Economic Development budget. Business
Manager Christensen provided a financial
overview for the Economic and Community
Development Department.
Development Services
Development Services Director Hardisty
provided an overview and computer overhead
presentation on the proposed Development
Services budget and distributed written
material.
