Prior to placement of fill, all vegetation, rubbish, or other deleterious materials should Se disposed of off-site during site clearing. The porous or disturbd soils should be removed to the depths indicated in the soils report.: 20. After the recommended removals, the exposed surfaces shall be 'scarafied to a depth. of at. least 12 inches and moistened, as required, to obtain 27' over dptimum moisture con enc: The scarafied areas shall be compated to a minimum of ; 90% of the maximum laboratory density, as determined by ASTM D-1557-00. the roes of removal shall include any e 9 fill. 21. Rock fragments less than 6" in diameter may be utilized in fill, provided: a. they are not placed in concentrated pockets b. there is sufficient percentage of fine-grained material surrounding the rocks c. the distribution of reocks is supervised by the Geotechical Engineer. 22. The excavated on-site soils, cleared of deletrious materail, are considered satisfactory for use in the controlled fills.
