Confined Space Job
Responsibilities
Function Worker ID
a. Entry Supervisor
e Be aware of job hazards
* Verifies that confined space entry permit is completed
properly, including air monitoring
® Approves and cancels confined space entry
permit
Verifies rescue squad is available
Keeps unauthorized persons away from confined
space
Ensures that confined space work is conducted
consistent with confines space entry permit and that
acceptable conditions are maintained in the confined
Mace

e Be aware of job hazards
e Be aware of hazard exposure worker behavior
e Maintain accurate account of authorized entrants
e Constant presence at confined space access
point
e Communicates with authorized entrants to monitor
status or to alert for evacuation
® Monitors activities in confined space and in
surrounding area for safety issues and takes steps to
maintain worker safety
e Initiates emergency procedures, if necessary
0 Keeps unauthorized persons away from confined
space
c. Entrant
0 Be aware of job hazards
0 Be able to use required confined space equipment
0 Communicates with attendant as necessary
Alert the attendant of hazardous conditions or other
emergencies
Initiates emergency procedures, if necessary
Exit the confined space when directed or when
hazardous conditions are discovered
d. Rescue Squad
Rescue squad members will be provided with
necessary equipment and trained on its use
Each rescue squad member viii be trained to perform
assigned rescue duties
* Annual refresher training, including a simulated
confined space rescue is required for rescue squad
members
* At least one rescue squad member will have current
certification is CPR and first aid
