2. PUBLIC STATEMENTS
Dianne Hoover, Recreation and Parks Director spoke about the City recruiting lifeguards and
invited the Youth Commission to tell their friends.
3. AGENDA SUMMARY REPORT
The Commission adopted the March 6, 2017 report
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. City Social Media Applications
Caleb Blaschke, Management Assistant, provided the Youth Commission an overview of
the City’s current Social Media applications.
Wiladene Sawyer, Technology Services Webmaster presented the City’s Website Portal to
the Youth Commission.
The Commission stated that the application that they would like to see utilized more to
reach the Youth of Bakersfield is Instagram. Staff said they would look at incorporating
Instagram accounts and report back to the Commission at a future date.
