RE: Report of Drainage Basin Mitigation
Tract 6557-2
SEC Berkshire and Mountain Ridge
Bakersfield, California
Dear Mr. Grombly:
Project No. 026-15442
As you are aware, Krazan & Associates, Inc performed a Soil Absorption Evaluation for the proposed drainage
basin (KA No. 022-05218) dated May 8, 2006, for the above referenced project. Our report provided mitigation
measures in order to develop a basin with appropriate absorption characteristics.
The recommended primary mitigation measure consisted of over -excavating the basin to a depth of 21 feet below
the existing site grade and backfilling the basin with free draining sand approved by this office. As a result of
supplemental field exploration, the developer choose to increase the depth of over -excavation to 27 to 28 feet in
order to extend the removal below the deeper silt lens which was encountered from 25 to 27%2 feet below grade
during our previous investigation. Observations and testing have concluded that the drainage basin has been
constructed in accordance with the recommendations contained in our Soil Absorption Evaluation report.
If you have any questions, or if we may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office at
(661) 837-9200.
Respectfully submitted,
