HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 068-17RESOLUTION NO. 0 6 8- 17 RESOLUTION ADOPTING FISCAL YEAR 2017/2018 SEWER AND STORM SEWER USER FLAT RATES AND MISCELLANEOUS SEWER FEES WHEREAS, Chapter 14.12 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code authorizes the City Council of the City of Bakersfield (City) to establish fees and charges to recover costs for services rendered; and WHEREAS, the adoption of sewer fees is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under the California Public Resources Code Section 21080(b) (8); and WHEREAS, the adoption of sewer fees complies with Proposition 26 and Proposition 218; and WHEREAS, the CITY has calculated the annual rate for residential and commercial sewer user flat rate fees; and WHEREAS, the rates set by City Council action on June 8, 2016 for Fiscal Year 2016/2017 will not change for Fiscal Year 2017/2018; and WHEREAS, Exhibit "A" summarizes both residential and commercial flat rate fees (collected on property tax bill) proposed for Fiscal Year 2017/2018, and miscellaneous sewer fees for permitted haulers and permitted industrial users. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference. 2. The Council adopts fees established in Exhibit "A ". 3. The minimum sewer charge for all properties is equal to the single family residence rate.
