GROUND SURFACES TO RECEIVE CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS AND BITUMINOUS PAVEMENTS SHOULD BE SCARIFIED AND COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF 12 INCHES BELOW THE EXISTING GROUND SURFACE IN AREAS TO BE FILLED, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN THE GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION OR DIRECTED BY THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. INITIAL - WHEN THE SITE HAS BEEN CLEARED OF VEGETATION AND UNAPPROVED FILL AND IT HAS BEEN SCARIFIED OR OTHERWISE PREPARED FOR FILL. NO FILL SHALL HAVE BEEN PLACED PRIOR TO THIS INSPECTION. B.
