AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AMENDING SECTION 2.84.210 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO OVERTIME -
COMPENSATORY TIME.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 2.84.210 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Chapter 2.84 Compensation
2.84.210 Overtime — Compensatory time.
A. Eligible employees designated by the letters "A" or "B" may be
credited with compensatory time off at one and one -half times the hours of
authorized overtime worked in excess of the established work period in lieu of
payment therefor under subsection A of Section 2.84.200.
B. Eligible employees designated by the letter "C" may be credited
with compensatory time off at the regular straight -time rate for authorized
overtime worked in excess of the established work period in lieu of payment
therefor under subsection B of Section 2.84.200. Police supervisory employees
may be credited with compensatory time off at one and one -half times the
hours of authorized overtime worked in excess of the established work period.

C. Eligible employees current rate of pay shall be used as a conversion
factor if necessary to convert compensatory time into overtime pay.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty )30) days from and
after the date of its passage.
