AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 5.32.040 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO MASSAGE
ESTABLISHMENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED
as follows:
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
SECTION 1.
Section 5.32.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
5.32.040 Required.
It is unlawful for any person to engage in, conduct, or
carry on, or to permit to be engaged in, conducted or carried on,
in or upon any premises within the city, the business of a mas-
sage establishment or to render, or permit to be rendered, mas-
sage services within the city without having first obtained and
having a permit issued pursuant to the provisions set forth in
this chapter. No permit to render massage services shall be
issued except to the owner/manager and employees of a permitted
massage establishment and such services may lawfully be performed
only by persons holding permits performing such services on the
premises of a permitted establishment.
