HomeMy WebLinkAbout6.9-224`;' '11t11�sP►C��� ALL GRADING AND SITE PREPARATION SHALL CONFORM TO THIS PLAN, CITY OF BAKERSFIELD GRADING ORDINANCE, AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF APPENDIX "J" OF THE 2016 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE AND STANDARDS PERTAINING THEREOF AND THE PRELIMINARY SOILS REPORT PREPARED BY: KRAZAN & ASSOCIATES, INC. DATED; AUGUST 13, 2004, PROJECT NO. 022-04133 ALL TESTING REQUIRED BY 2013 C.B.C. OR MOST CURRENT VERSION SHALL BE PERFORMED. SITE PREPARATION AND GRADING SHALL BE DONE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE SOILS ENGINEER, WHO SHALL BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES DURING GRADING OPERATIONS THE SOILS ENGINEER SHALL BE NOTIFIED AT LEAST TWO DAYS BEFORE STARTING ANY OF THIS WORK. THE SOILS ENGINEER SHALL PROVIDE TO THE DESIGN ENGINEER A FINAL SOILS REPORT OR A STATEMENT THAT THE GRADING WAS DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GRADING PLAN AND PRELIMINARY SOILS REPORT ALONG WITH COPIES OF THE COMPACTION TESTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL NECESSARY ENCROACHMENT AND/OR OTHER PERMITS FROM THE APPROPRIATE PUBLIC AGENCY BEFORE START OF CONSTRUCTION. AN OSHA PERMIT IS REQUIRED WHEN WORKERS MUST ENTER TRENCHES OR EXCAVATIONS. THE LANDSCAPED AREAS ARE TO BE DESIGNED AND GRADED TO MINIMIZE EXCESS LANDSCAPING DRAINAGE ACROSS THE SIDEWALK FOR THOSE AREAS OVER 2%. THE DESIGN ENGINEER AND THE BUILDING OFFICIAL SHALL BE NOTIFIED 48 HOURS PRIOR TO PLACING OF FILL MATERIAL. IF THE CONTRACTOR FAILS TO MAKE NOTIFICATION, ALL WORK DONE ON THE SITE WILL BE DONE AT THEIR OWN RISK AND CAN BE REJECTED. ANY REGRADING REQUIRED SHALL BE DONE AT THE CONTRACTORS OWN EXPENSE. PRIOR. TO THE START OF ANY PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION, THE CITY CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION SECTION SHALL BE GIVEN AT LEAST 24 HOURS NOTICE. THE SECTION MAY BE NOTIFIED AT (805, 661) 326-3049. COMPACTION TESTS SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVELOPER/SUBDIVIDER/CONTRACTOR. THE NUMBER AND LOCATION OF REQUIRED TESTS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE CITY ENGINEER. AN OPEN STREET PERMIT SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR ANY WORK PERFORMED WITHIN EXISTING ACCEPTED STREET RIGHT OF WAY. UNLESS SECURED BY AN IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT, APPROVED INSURANCE AND SECURITY BASED ON AN APPROVED ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE FOR THE WORK PERFORMED WITHIN RIGHT OF WAY SHALL BE POSTED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF THE PERMIT. ANY ITEMS IN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY THAT ARE DAMAGED OR DO NOT MEET CURRENT STANDARDS SET BY PUBLIC WORKS WILL REQUIRE REPAIRING AND/OR UPGRADING AS PER CITY ENGINEER. THE CUT AND FILL QUANTITIES SHOWN ARE CALCULATED USING A COMPACTION FACTOR OF 1.5. THE ENGINEER MAKES NO WARRANTY EITHER DIRECT OR IMPLIED THAT THIS WILL BE THE ACTUAL COMPACTION FACTOR. IF CONTRACTOR, DURING THE PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTION BELIEVES THERE IS A DEFICIENCY OR AN EXCESS OF SOIL, HE SHALL IMMEDIATELY CONTACT THE ENGINEER WHO SHALL DETERMINE IF ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE MADE TO PROVIDE A BALANCE BETWEEN CUT AND FILL. THE DESIGN ENGINEER SHALL EXERCISE SUFFICIENT SUPERVISORY CONTROL DURING GRADING AND CONSTRUCTION TO INSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THIS PLAN, SPECIFICATIONS, SOILS REPORT, AND THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE WITHIN HIS PURVIEW. THE CONTRACTOR OR OWNER SHALL BEAR ALL EXPENSES OF COMPLIANCE WITH THESE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING ALL ONSITE INSPECTIONS AND AS -BUILT SURVEY. ALL FILL TO BE COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM OF 90% MAXIMUM DENSITY AS DETERMINED BY SECTION 3305 OF THE C.B.G. AND SO CERTIFIED BY TESTS AND REPORTS FROM THE SOILS ENGINEER. THE SOILS ENGINEER OR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER MAY REQUIRE A MINIMUM THAT EXCEEDS THIS REQUIREMENT. SURFACE DRAINAGE TO BE 1% MINIMUM, EXCEPT WERE CONCRETE SWALES ARE PROVIDED. A MINIMUM OF 2% AWAY FROM ALL STRUCTURES. ALL SLOPES SHALL BE NO STEEPER THAN 2:1 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED AND APPROVED BY THE SOILS ENGINEER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GRADING OF PAD AREA TO WITHIN + OR - 0.1 FOOT OF DESIGN GRADE. IF THE PAD SHOULD BE FOUND TO BE MORE THAN THIS THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REQUIRED TO REGRADE AND RECOMPACT THE PAD AREA UNTIL IT IS WITHIN THESE REQUIRED GRADE TOLERANCES AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. QUANTITIES WERE CALCULATED ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT EXISTING GROUND WILL BE COMPACTED AN AVERAGE 1.0 FEET DUE TO CLEARING AND GRUBBING OPERATIONS AND COMPACTION FROM EQUIPMENT. YARDAGES ARE FOR PERMIT PURPOSES ONLY, ACTUAL YARDAGE MAY VARY, THEREFORE THESE NUMBERS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR BIDDING OR PAYMENT. FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED IN LAYERS NOT EXCEEDING 6" IN COMPACTED THICKNESS AND COMPACTED AT OPTIMIUM MOISTURE CONTENT BY AN APPROVED METHOD, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE SOILS ENGINEER.
