FROM THE APPROPRIATE PUBLIC AGENCY BEFORE START OF CONSTRUCTION.
AN OSHA PERMIT IS REQUIRED WHEN WORKERS MUST ENTER TRENCHES OR EXCAVATIONS.
THE LANDSCAPED AREAS ARE TO BE DESIGNED AND GRADED TO MINIMIZE EXCESS
LANDSCAPING DRAINAGE ACROSS THE SIDEWALK FOR THOSE AREAS OVER 2%.
THE DESIGN ENGINEER AND THE BUILDING OFFICIAL SHALL BE NOTIFIED 48 HOURS
PRIOR TO PLACING OF FILL MATERIAL. IF THE CONTRACTOR FAILS TO MAKE NOTIFICATION,
ALL WORK DONE ON THE SITE WILL BE DONE AT THEIR OWN RISK AND CAN BE REJECTED.
ANY REGRADING REQUIRED SHALL BE DONE AT THE CONTRACTORS OWN EXPENSE.
PRIOR. TO THE START OF ANY PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION, THE CITY CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION
SECTION SHALL BE GIVEN AT LEAST 24 HOURS NOTICE. THE SECTION MAY BE NOTIFIED AT
(805, 661) 326-3049.

ANY ITEMS IN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY THAT ARE DAMAGED OR DO NOT MEET CURRENT
STANDARDS SET BY PUBLIC WORKS WILL REQUIRE REPAIRING AND/OR UPGRADING
AS PER CITY ENGINEER.
THE CUT AND FILL QUANTITIES SHOWN ARE CALCULATED USING A COMPACTION FACTOR OF 1.5. THE
ENGINEER MAKES NO WARRANTY EITHER DIRECT OR IMPLIED THAT THIS WILL BE THE ACTUAL
COMPACTION FACTOR. IF CONTRACTOR, DURING THE PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTION BELIEVES
THERE IS A DEFICIENCY OR AN EXCESS OF SOIL, HE SHALL IMMEDIATELY CONTACT THE ENGINEER
WHO SHALL DETERMINE IF ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE MADE TO PROVIDE A BALANCE BETWEEN
CUT AND FILL.
THE DESIGN ENGINEER SHALL EXERCISE SUFFICIENT SUPERVISORY CONTROL DURING GRADING
AND CONSTRUCTION TO INSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THIS PLAN, SPECIFICATIONS, SOILS REPORT,
AND THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE WITHIN HIS PURVIEW. THE CONTRACTOR
OR OWNER SHALL BEAR ALL EXPENSES OF COMPLIANCE WITH THESE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING
ALL ONSITE INSPECTIONS AND AS -BUILT SURVEY.

SECTION 3305 OF THE C.B.G. AND SO CERTIFIED BY TESTS AND REPORTS FROM THE SOILS ENGINEER.
THE SOILS ENGINEER OR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER MAY REQUIRE A MINIMUM THAT EXCEEDS
THIS REQUIREMENT.
SURFACE DRAINAGE TO BE 1% MINIMUM, EXCEPT WERE CONCRETE SWALES ARE PROVIDED.
A MINIMUM OF 2% AWAY FROM ALL STRUCTURES.
ALL SLOPES SHALL BE NO STEEPER THAN 2:1 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED AND APPROVED BY
THE SOILS ENGINEER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GRADING OF PAD AREA TO WITHIN + OR - 0.1 FOOT
OF DESIGN GRADE. IF THE PAD SHOULD BE FOUND TO BE MORE THAN THIS THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
BE REQUIRED TO REGRADE AND RECOMPACT THE PAD AREA UNTIL IT IS WITHIN THESE REQUIRED
GRADE TOLERANCES AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE.
QUANTITIES WERE CALCULATED ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT EXISTING GROUND WILL
BE COMPACTED AN AVERAGE 1.0 FEET DUE TO CLEARING AND GRUBBING OPERATIONS
AND COMPACTION FROM EQUIPMENT.
YARDAGES ARE FOR PERMIT PURPOSES ONLY, ACTUAL YARDAGE MAY VARY, THEREFORE THESE
NUMBERS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR BIDDING OR PAYMENT.
FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED IN LAYERS NOT EXCEEDING 6" IN COMPACTED THICKNESS AND
COMPACTED AT OPTIMIUM MOISTURE CONTENT BY AN APPROVED METHOD, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE
SOILS ENGINEER.
IF THE PROJECT IS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE
ELIMINATION SYSTEM (NPDES), A "NOTICE OF INTENT' (N01) TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS
OF THE GENERAL PERMIT TO DISCHARGE STORM WATER ASSOCIATED WITH CONSTRUCTION
ACTIVITY (SWRCB ORDER NO. 2009-009-DWQ AS AMENDED BY ORDER 2010-0014-DWQ AND ORDER
2012-0006-DWQ) MUST BE FILED WITH THE STATE WATER RESOURCES
CONTROL BOARD IN SACRAMENTO BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF ANY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE GENERAL PERMIT REQUIRES THAT A STORM WATER POLLUTION
PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP) BE PREPARED, CONTINUOUSLY CARRIED OUT, AND ALWAYS BE
AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION DURING NORMAL CONSTRUCTION HOURS.
ALL FILL AREAS TO BE CLEARED OF VEGATATION AND OTHER UNSUITABLE MATERIALS
FOR A STRUCTURE FILL AND THE AREA SCARIFIED TO A DEPTH OF SIX (6) INCHES.
GRADING WORK WILL BE SUPERVISED AS ENGINEERED GRADING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE

MAXIMUM SLOPE RATIO FROM BACK OF SIDEWALK TO FACE OF WALL OR STRUCTURE SHALL BE 4:1,
EXCEPT FOR TWO FEET BEHIND THE SIDEWALK WHERE THE MAXIMUM SLOPE SHALL BE 2%.
ALTERNATIVELY, THE CITY ENGINEER MAY APPROVE CURBING BEHIND THE SIDEWALK OR OTHER
METHOD TO PREVENT EROSION ONTO THE SIDEWALK.
