RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
ADOPTING THE TAFT HIGHWAY - FARMERS
CANAL BRIDGE DISTRICT AND MAKING
FINDINGS RELATIVE THERETO. (WARD 6)
WHEREAS, by Resolution of Intention No. 1952, adopted November 15, 2017, a public
hearing was called for December 13, 2017, at the hour of 5:15 pm in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, regarding the establishment of
the Taft Highway - Farmers Canal Bridge District; and
WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected property owners as
such are shown on the latest equalized assessment roll; and,
WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested
have been given an opportunity to appear and be heard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference.
2. The Taft Highway - Farmers Canal Bridge District has been identified in the
circulation element of the 2010 General Plan.
3. The Taft Highway - Farmers Canal Bridge District is in addition to existing major
thoroughfares serving the area.
4. No majority protest as to the formation of the Taft Highway - Farmers Canal Bridge
District exists.
5. The Council hereby finds that, as to the Taft Highway - Farmers Canal Bridge
District, as described in the plans and maps attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference, subdivision and development of property within each such
area will require construction of facilities, described in each such area either on the
basis of benefits conferred on property for subdivision or on the need for such
facilities created by the proposed subdivision and development of other property
within such area, and that the fees provided within the schedule attached, are
fairly apportioned.
6. The Taft Highway- Farmers Canal Bridge District is hereby adopted.

2. The fee for calendar years 2017 and 2018 is $446.82 /Acre.
3. Starting January 1, 2019, fee will be based upon an inflation factor of 3% annually.
4. The Fees are based and charged per the Net Acreage of each parcel as of September 26, 2017.
