RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FOR THE BAKERSFIELD BICYCLIST AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY PLAN
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation ("Caltrans")
solicited applications for the Fiscal Year 2017-15 Sustainable Communities and
Adaptation Planning Grant Program.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield ("City") submitted an application known
as the Bakersfield Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Plan as part of the Sustainable
Communities and Adaptation Planning Grant Program.
WHEREAS, the City has received a condition of grant acceptance for the
Bakersfield Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Plan contingent upon satisfying
certain pre -award requirements.
WHEREAS, Caltrans has requested a resolution by the City Council naming
City Manager, Alan Tandy, as the person authorized to enter into an agreement
for the Bakersfield Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Council of the City of Bakersfield
authorizes City Manager, Alan Tandy, as the person authorized to enter into an
agreement for the Bakersfield Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Plan.
