Department Budget Presentation Meeting
REGULAR MEETING -12:02 p.m. ACTION TAKEN

Present: Mayor Goh, Vice -Mayor Smith,
Councilmembers Rivera, Gonzales, Weir,
Sullivan, Freeman, Parlier
Absent: None

3. WORKSHOPS
a. Department Budget Presentations
1. Visit Bakersfield
Visit Bakersfield Manager Lyman made
staff comments and provided a
PowerPoint presentation.
Mayor Goh requested staff to identify
what areas would Visit Bakersfield
choose to invest based on the greatest
return on investment if given additional
funding.
2. Development Services
Development Services Director Kitchen
and Building Director Burns made staff
comments and provided a
PowerPoint presentation.
Councilmember Rivera left the meeting at 12:42 p.m. and
returned to the meeting at 12:45 p.m.

3. WORKSHOPS continued ACTION TAKEN

Mayor Goh requested staff provide
additional information regarding the
impact on employment over the past
year as a result of new development.
Councilmember Freeman requested staff
provide a map outlining the boundaries
of Old Stockdole.
Councilmember Sullivan requested staff
to provide information on the benefits of
annexing into the City.
Mayor Goh recessed the meeting at 1:09 p.m. and
reconvened the meeting at 1:18 p.m.
3. Recreation and Parks
Recreation and Parks Director Hoover
made staff comments and provided a
PowerPoint presentation.
Councilmember Sullivan requested staff
contact her to discuss an area that is in
need of tree replacement and
landscaping.
Councilmember Gonzales requested
staff provide a map of the locations
where trees will be replaced.
Water Resources
Water Resources Manager Chianello
made staff comments and provided a
PowerPoint presentation.
Vice Mayor Smith requested staff to
explore renaming the Ag Water Division
Public Works
Public Works Director Fidler made staff
comments and provided a PowerPoint
presentation.
Councilmember Weir requested staff
continue to spread additional wood
chips along Hwy 178.

Mayor Goh adjourned the eeting at 2. 9 p.m.
