AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO RESOLUTION 152-01
ESTABLISHING COUNCIL POLICY FOR EVALUATING
REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM NON.
PROFIT GROUPS.
WHEREAS; on September 19, 2001, the City Council adopted Resolution No.
152-01, establishing Council policy for evaluating requests for financial assistance
from non-profit groups; and
WHEREAS; the aforementioned resolution a s a m e n d e d limits financial
assistance for ongoing operation and maintenance purposes to five organizations:
and
WHEREAS; the five organizations eligible to receive financial assistance for
ongoing operation and maintenance purposes from the City include the Bakersfield
Senior Center, the Bakersfield Museum of Art, Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, the
Bakersfield Music Theatre and Alliance Against Family Violence: and
WHEREAS; Alliance Against Family Violence funding approval was limited to FY
2015-16 and FY 2016-17 only, and afterwards funding ceased; and
WHEREAS; a request has been made to provide financial assistance for ongoing
operation and maintenance purposes to Flood Ministries, a non-profit organization f o r
FY 2018-19; and
WHEREAS; Flood Ministries is not included in the aforementioned list of nonprofit
organizations eligible for operations and maintenance funding from the City pursuant to
Resolution 152-01; and
WHEREAS; the policy must be amended for the City Council to consider this
request.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct, and are incorporated herein by
reference.
2. Resolution No. 152-01 is hereby amended to add Flood Ministries to the
list of eligible non-profit organizations approved to receive financial
assistance for ongoing operation and maintenance purposes from the
City, limited to FY 2018-19.
3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
