The fence does not meet the required location for the line of sight for a corner lot at a controlled intersection per Bakersfield Municipal Code Section 17.08.175 C. The attached drawing illustrates the location the fence needs to be constructed to meet line of sight requirements. Also the application submitted did not include the height of the wrought iron fence or block wall you are proposing to build. Please provide additional information regarding heights and limits. Please note the maximum fence height for front yard fence is 4 feet as measured from the top of the sidewalk and 6 feet for side yard fences or walls. We have revised the permit to include height maximums and light of sight requirements. Please sign the revised permit at your earliest convenience and return and we will continue our review of your Encroachment Permit application. The line of site requirement is a health and safety issue. Vehicles approaching the intersection from Lindsay Street must be able to see approaching vehicles on South "K" Street.
