CITY ENGINEER September 23, 2010 Eliseo Pacheco 1001 San Vicente Drive Bakersfield, CA 93307 RE: Encroachment Permit Application at 1001 San Vicente Dr. Dear Mr. Pacheco: We have reviewed, your application for an encroachment permit, for a 4 foot fence within the road right of way, at 1001 San Vicente Drive. The fence location as shown on the diagram does not meet the required location for the line of sight for a corner lot. A line of sight is to be maintained at all corner lot per Bakersfield Municipal Code Section 17.08.175 A. Therefore, your request for an Encroachment Permit is denied at this time. Provide a revised diagram illustrating the fence location and height based on the line of sight as instructed in the attached standard drawing T -7 for a uncontrolled intersection and we will continue our review of your application. The line of sight requirement is a health and safety issue. Vehicles approaching into the intersection must be able to see approaching vehicles from all directions.
