January 10, 2002 Zydeco 1804 Chester Avenue Bakersfield, California 93301 Attention: Paul Bobbitt Subject: EN- 015111426 Encroachment Permit Application Dear Sir; You application for an encroachment at 1804 Chester Avenue is denied. As required by BMC § 12.20.020, the City Engineer has made an investigation and has determined that the approval of said encroachment will interfere with the use of the public property, right -of -way or other public place where the same is proposed to be maintained. The encroachment conflicts with the 2010 General Plan, Chapter III, Goals and Policies, to encourage development of pedestrian sensitive uses and design in the downtown area. Chester Avenue is the main arterial within the downtown area. A reduction of sidewalk width would not meet the goals and policies established by the 2010 General Plan.
