A RESOLUTION FROM THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR PLANNING
GRANT FUNDS FOR THE STRATEGIC GROWTH
COUNCIL'S TRANSFORMATIVE CLIMATES
COMMUNITIES PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of California have provided funds
for the Transformative Climates Communities Program (Planning Grant).
WHEREAS, the Strategic Growth Council has been delegated the responsibility for the
administration of this grant program, establishing necessary procedures.
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the Strategic Growth Council require a
resolution that identifies the lead applicant, authorizes the lead applicant to apply for
and if awarded accept the Planning Grant, and execute all related documents.
WHEREAS, the deadline to submit a Planning Grant application for the second cycle is
October 30, 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct, and incorporated herein.
2. The City Council approves the City of Bakersfield to serve as the lead applicant
for the Planning Grant application due by October 30, 2018.
3. The City Council authorizes the City of Bakersfield to apply for and if awarded
accept the Planning Grant.
4. The City Council appoints the City Manager, or designee, as the agent to
execute all documents related to the Planning Grant.
