General Information November 21, 2018 Page 3 Traffic Advisory  Night closures scheduled for Truxtun Avenue over next week Truxtun Avenue is expected to be closed to all traffic, in the vicinity of the Westside Parkway on- and off-ramps, for several nights during the next week. The full street closures are scheduled to be in place between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday, November 26th through Thursday, November 29th. The closures are needed so the contractor for the Kern River Bridge Improvement Project can set falsework above the roadway for the new overcrossings. These closures will affect both directions of travel in this area. The eastbound off-ramp from the Westside Parkway will also be closed while work is underway so eastbound traffic will need to exit at Mohawk Street. The westbound on-ramp, which had previously been scheduled for night closures next week, will remain open. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic around the road closure via California Avenue. Motorists can also use Rosedale Highway. All lanes on Truxtun Avenue, as well as the eastbound off-ramp, are expected to be open in time for the morning commute.  State route 99 ramp closure - Starting Monday in Bakersfield The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces an extended ramp closure on State Route 99 starting Monday in Bakersfield for roadway maintenance operations. The following closure will be in effect, weather permitting: • The Southbound State Route 99 on-ramp from State Route 223 (Bear Mountain Boulevard) will be closed starting Monday, November 26, at 8:00 p.m. until Tuesday, December 18. A posted detour will be available. Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur during operations.
