Aqr 1$- I' 3 A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE ITS SALE WHEREAS, the City in its capacity as the Housing Successor Agency of the City of Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency, acquired a fee simple interest in property located at 221 Rodman Street, Bakersfield, CA; and WHEREAS, the City acquired this property to promote infill housing and work with nonprofit builders to develop housing in the area; and WHEREAS, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY is an international non-profit corporation that develops affordable housing for disadvantaged households; and WHEREAS, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY desires to negotiate with the City of Bakersfield for the purchase of the real property known as 221 Rodman Street; and WHEREAS, Bakersfield Municipal Code 3.20.125 authorizes the negotiated sale of City property deemed to be "surplus"; and WHEREAS, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY has made an offer for $1 for the real property; and WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Planning Division found the sale of this property to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan pursuant to Government Code Section 65402. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct, and incorporated herein. 2. Real Property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto is hereby declared surplus to the City's needs and the Finance Director is authorized to negotiate its sale.
