AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.06.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.06 (ZONING MAP) OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
REGARDING PREZONING OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS
THE BUENA VISTA NO. 3 ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission held hearings on a request
by the City of Bakersfield to zone certain property now being
annexed to said City and made several general and specific find-
ings of fact which warranted a negative declaration of environ-
mental impact; and
WHEREAS, there appears to be no substantial detrimental
environmental impact which could result from this zoning action;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning substantially conforms to
the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the Planning Commission hearing, that said zoning should be
authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
A. All the foregoing recitals are found to be true and
correct.
B. The Negative Declaration for this zoning action is
hereby approved and adopted.
C. That Section 17.06.020 of Chapter 17.06 (Zoning Map)
of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same
is hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to
include those certain properties in the County of Kern located
contiguous to the boundary of the City of Bakersfield and located
south of White Lane, east of Buena Vista Road, north of the
Southern Pacific Railroad, known as the BUENA VISTA NO. 3
ANNEXATION, upon the annexation of said property to the City of
Bakersfield, the boundaries of which property are shown on the
map hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance, and are
more specifically described as follows:
TO AN R-1 (ONE FAMILY DWELLING) ZONE:
All of that portion of the West half of
Section 18, Township 30 South, Range 27
East, ~.D.B.&M., County of Kern, State of
California, being more particularly
described as follows:
That portion of the West half of said
Section 18, lying South of the North 1,575
feet of said West half section.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the West 228 feet of
the South 1,167.34 feet of the North
2,742.34 feet of said West half section.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM any portion
falling within the West 30 feet (Buena
Vista Road) of said section and any por-
tion falling within the 100 foot wide
right-of-way for the Southern Pacific
Railway, Buttonwillow Branch, along the
South line of said section.
Containing 221.165 acres.
TO AN R-2 (LIMITED MULTIPLE-FAMILY
DWq~LLING) ZONE:
The West 228 feet of the South 1,167.34
feet of the North 2,742.34 of the West
half of Section 18, Township 30 South,
Range 27 East, M.D.B.& M., County of
Kern, State of California.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM any portion falling
within the West 30 feet (Buena Vista
Road) of said West half section.
Containing 5.31 acres.

TO AN A-20A (AGRICULTURE TWENTY-ACRE
MINIMUM LOT SIZE) ZONE:
The South half of the Southeast quarter
of Section 18, Township 30 South, Range
27 East, M.D.B.&.M., County of Kern,
State of California.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM any portion falling
within the right-of-way for the Southern
Pacific Railway, Buttonwillow Branch,
(100 feet wide) along the South line of
said Section 18.
Containing 73.93 acres.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective upon the
annexation of the above-described territory to the City of
Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after
the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on September 9, 1987 , by the
