AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTIONS 2.92.010,
2.92.090, 2.92.330, REPEALING SECTION 2.92.170,
AND AMENDING AND REPEALING SECTION 2.92.100 OF
THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT RELIEF AND PENSION FUND.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsections A and E of Section 2.92.010 of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
2.92.010 Pension board.
A. The relief and pension fund, created and established
for members of the fire department of the city who did not join
the public employees' retirement system shall be administered by a
board of trustees known as the pension board. The pension board
shall consist of the mayor, city manager, finance director, chief
of the fire department, and three other persons elected by vote of
the members of the fund. Members of the fund shall be eligible
for election as members of the pension board.
E. Five members of the pension board shall constitute a
quorum for transaction of business. The mayor shall serve as
chairman of the pension board, the city manager shall serve as
secretary thereof, and the finance director shall serve as treas-
urer of the pension board and of the fund.
SECTION 2.
Subsection A, B, C6 and C10 of Section 2.92.090 of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:

D. In addition to the increases specified in subsection
C of this section, commencing on August 1, 1987, the schedule pro-
vided in subsection A, above, shall be increased by a one-time
additional ten percent cost-of-living increase.
SECTION 5.
Section 2.92.170 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby repealed in its entirety.
