AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.06.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.06 (ZONING MAP) OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
REGARDING PREZONING OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS
THE OSWELL NO. 6 ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission held hearings on a request
by the City of Bakersfield to zone certain property now being
annexed to said City and made several general and specific find-
ings of fact which warranted a negative declaration of environ-
mental impact; and
WHEREAS, there appears to be no substantial detrimental
environmental impact which could result from this zoning action;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning substantially conforms to
the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the Planning Commission hearing, that said zoning should be
authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
A. All the foregoing recitals are found to be true and
correct.
B. The Negative Declaration for this zoning action is
hereby approved and adopted.
C. That Section 17.06.020 of Chapter 17.06 (Zoning Map)
of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same
is hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to
include those certain properties in the County of Kern located
contiguous to the boundary of the City of Bakersfield and located
north and south of Brundage Lane, and east and west of Oswell
Street, known as the OSWELL NO. 6 ANNEXATION, upon the annexation
of said property to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of
which property are shown on the map hereto attached and made a
part of this ordinance, and are more specifically described as
follows:
TO AN M-2 (GENERAL MANUFACTURING) ZONE:
All of those portions of Section 34,
Township 29 south, Range 28 east,
M.D.B.&M. and Sections 2 and 3, Township
30 south, Range 28 east M.D.B.&M., County
of Kern, State of California more partic-
ularly described as follows:
Parcel 1
The south half of the southwest quarter
of said Section 34 as said Section is
shown on Parcel Map No. 5027 filed August
27, 1979 in Book 23 of Parcel Maps at
Page 86 in the Office of the Kern County
Recorder.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, those portions
dedicated road right-of-way for Mt.
Vernon Avenue, Quantico Avenue and
Brundage Lane.

The south half of the southeast quarter
of said Section 34 as said section is
shown on map of Tract No. 4065 filed
November 26, 1980 in Book 30 of Maps,
Page 142 in the Office of the Kern County
recorder.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, all of said Tract
No. 4065.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM, those portions
of dedicated road right-of-way for
Quantico Avenue, Oswell Street and
Brundage Lane.

The northeast quarter of said Section 3.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, that portion of high-
way right-of-way for State Route No. 58
and those portions of dedicated road
right-of-way for Brundage Lane, Oswell
Street, Kimber Avenue and Workman Street.
Parcel 4
The west 30 acres of the south half of
the northwest quarter of said Section 2
and said fractional section is shown on
official plat thereof on file in the
Office of the Surveyor General.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, that portion of dedi-
cated right-of-way for Oswell Street.
Containing 291.98 +/- acres.
TO AN R-1 (ONE FAMILY DWELLING) ZONE:
The southwest quarter of the southwest
quarter of Section 35, Township 29 south,
Range 28 east, M.D.B.&M., County of Kern,
State of California.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, the south 225 feet
of the west 255 feet of said southwest
quarter.
ALSO EXCEPTING, those portions of
dedicated road right-of-way for Oswell
Street and Brundage Lane.
Containing 36.60 +/- acres.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective upon the
annexation of the above-described territory to the City of
Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after
the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on October 21, 1987 , by the
